• Question: Do you think we'll ever understand everything in the universe?

      I don’t think we will. Even if we were to understand the most fundamental laws of the Universe, a so called Theory of Everything, it’d be really hard to apply to absolutely everything. The Universe is so big so the laws of nature can play out in loads of really really interesting, complex ways. So just by the numbers it’s probable we won’t understand everything. But we shouldn’t stop because we’ll likely understand a fair bit and science has lead to so many wonderful developments that have improved our lives.

      No way. About 100 years ago a lot of physicists though they were pretty much finished, with just a few loose ends to figure out. Then along came quantum physics and everything got very confusing again. If we ever think we know everything we’d be kidding ourselves, there’s enough to keep us going forever!

      There’s an old saying about “the more you know, the more you know you don’t know” which I think it bang on.
