There were times I really didn’t like certain subjects, or didn’t do very well. But I’ve always loved space!

And that’s the key. You don’t have to love ALL of science. If you find one part of it you’re really passionate about, you can focus on that later on! You might have to learn about the stuff you don’t like, but that’s more than worth it if gets you a job where you get paid to study stuff you really love.

Nope, I mean I liked the idea of science fiction like in films but I wasn’t good at science and maths at school and wasn’t particularly fond of it either; it was only until college when things started to click and it became fun and interesting though I still got a C in A-level physics and now I’m doing a PhD in Theoretical physics! Moral: Do what you love and if that changes with time then change with it.

I’ve always loved it, but that doesn’t mean I always found it easy… Physics in particular I struggled with, but that just made me more determined to push through – I don’t like to be defeated! And I’m very glad I did, because now I’m living in Chile working at one of the biggest astronomy institutions on the planet 🙂

Not always, at school it’s hard to get into everything all the time. I think once I got to later school years I liked it better since I’d done it for longer and was starting to realise that it was something I was interested in.
