I started being a scientist about 8 years ago. I grew up in New Zealand and moved to Australia to start doing science. It sounds like a long time but itโ€™s enough fun that the time has gone really quickly!

In some ways, I’ve been a scientist as long as I can remember! I’ve always loved tinkering with things and proposing answers to problems I didn’t already have answers for. But they’ve only paid me to do that stuff for a little over a decade. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’d say ‘officially’, for about 10 years (since I started University), but I’ve been a secret scientist all my life ๐Ÿ˜‰

Iโ€™ve always been fascinated with science from a young age and have always had the desire to answer questions that many people donโ€™t think about. But technically I started my PhD in September so as a university graduate it has been just under a year. Iโ€™m still a baby compared to the other scientists in my zone!

I’ve loved science from a young age and read lots of books when I was younger. I started my university Physics degree 10 years ago and I’ve been doing my PhD for 3 years (I took a few years out in between). So pick whichever date you prefer ๐Ÿ˜‰
